At least in Florida, everybody has em, the network gets over run and it doesnt work a 1/3 of the time, calls get dropped, the signal is poor, and when somebody beeps you in a restraunt half the place reaches down to check their phones.
Now that they have combined with Sprint in a few years Nextel will work everywhere...I think they have something good coming. I used to use Nextel until i went off to college and had to get verizon
I've seen similar issues with other service providers in New York/Newark area. Calls got dropped constantly, it didn't matter if it was Cingular, AT&T or T-Mobile. Seemed like the network was just overloaded.
yes everyone has Nextel phones but that is a good thing. The reason is because if is free to beep them at anytime. Yes the coverage right now sucks but in a year or two Nextel will be unbelieveable. The new phone are 100 times better than the old ones. I have the new i870 and i never drop calls and rarely loose service were old nextel phones normally lose their service.
the one positive thing i have to say about nextel well more to motorola really is that i can throw my i530 against a wall and it still works, it is the most durable phoneby far and i would say finally beats out the startac as my favorite. i just wish it had more features
I used to have a startack too. I find it a bit, well, oldish lately; so I got myself a new phone. And back to the topic, that is one problem you can have when your provider is over congested, your calls keeps getting dropped and it's even hard for you to make a call sometimes.
