Default Switching to Verizon

I started out with Cellular One many years ago, then it became AT&T.. all along they promised that the GSM service would improve in Northern California. Unfortunately this was not the case.. I was unable to make or receive calls from simple areas such as near my house, inside the malls etc..

So I switched to Verizon. Overall I have been happy. Doing research I discovered that Verizon, did in fact have the best coverage of any cell secvice provider here in the SF Bay Area.

They definitely have the best in the Northeast as well. Everyone else (especially Nextel/Sprint) has very, very spotty service. Overall I've been very happy with Verizon as well. Especially their "IN" plan.

Default Switching to Verizon

Verizon seems to have great coverage for the major urban areas of CT, but I travel alot of the very rural areas in the NW part of the state and don't have any coverage until I hit the NY line around Millerton.
My son and daughter were on my plan, and Verizon replaced my daughter's phone each time she dropped it in the tub, ran it through the washer, and whatever else she managed to do to trash it. I'm still using my old Star-Tac, but the kids have always had the more up-to-date phones. Finally using up the replacement phones we were eligible for, My daughtet took out her own plan, in Florida, where she goes to college, and went with T-Mobile. She's lucky to get any service in CT while home and is chewing up her cash roaming nearly everywhere while home for the holidays.
Seems like Verizon is making every effort to cover the heretofore dead areas. Between email, Iming and text messgaing, seems kids are rapidly loosing their ability to carry on a realtime conversation, so without the cell, I wouldn't have any idea what they were up to.

Default Switching to Verizon

I've Verizon for years and so far I've had only a few locations where it didn't work. But I drove from Ma to Yellowstone National Park which is about 3/4+ across the country and only a few times out in the middle of nowhere did I get a low signal or a dropped signal. The only place I know I don't have service is about 10 minutes from my house towards Boston... it drops out for about 2 miles then it comes right back. Good choice!

i live in seattle. i used to have at&t but i moved to telluride (colorado) for a winter and everyone said i'd need verizon there so i switched and am still using them. i find that i have service when a lot of my non-verizon friends won't - particularly out skiing. i travel a lot (for work - which tends to be fairly remote - and pleasure) and find that verizon tends to have pretty good broad coverage in general even though it may not be as good in some areas as their more-local provider might be.

Default Switching to Verizon

I have had verizon for 4 years. They have always replaced my phone regardless of what has happened to it and thats without insurance or anything. Service in my opinion seems to be the best.

I'm totally across the country in NY and i'd have to give the nod to verizon in terms of having great the best service.

I'm glad you are pleased with Verizon. They are my provider as well and one of the better ones around my area as far as getting signals and coverage. Still they have many flaws in my opinion. I hope you will be happy with them for awhile.

We go with Verizon because we live on the lake and it's the only provider that will cover the whole area. I hear a lot about dropped calls, but ever since I upgraded my phone, I've yet to have one. Verizon offers a great rate and I plan to stick with them for quite a while. Plus, I don't think there's a risk of them selling out like another company we've heard of.
