Default Cell coverage in your area...

Who has the best cell coverage where you live?

I live in the San Franciso Bay Area and the best coverage is by far Verizon. I really liked AT&T, but the GSM coverage in the US is dismall at best. Too bad because it is a better service than TDMA or CDMA.. however it's no good in the US as we don't have a good establised GSM network like Europe and Asia...

I live in the Asia, to be exact, Singapore.
We have 3 Cell coverage and its, Starhub, M1, Singtel.
All good.
I once in Indonesia and still have the starhub signal.
NOT ROAMING.
Starhub have the most strongest signal among those three.

At my college, Cingular is the best. Back home in Plymouth, T-Mobile is the best. They are the opposite in both cities, like T-Mobile sucks at my college and Cingular sucks at my house in Plymouth.

I'm from Karachi, Pakistan. Karachi is biggest city of Pakistan and also third biggest in the world so it is investment heaven for cell phone service providers. Each provider tries to give best service to customers. Mobilink, Telenor, Ufone, Paktel, WaridTel, InstaPhone all have same good service within the city, but outside the city (like in village side), Mobilink wins the race as it has biggest coverage network in Pakistan.

I think Verizon and Sprint are the best here. We have Verizon and since we've upgraded our phone, we've never lost a call. However, I used to have Virgin (Sprint) as a prepay carrier and they covered just as well as Verizon. I have heard the Ntelos is the worst in my area. However, I don't understand because I though they shared towers.

I live in the southern US - Corrwireless has a tower just to my south and it's the ONLY provider I have found that gives me a signal in the house.

Verizon gives the best coverage in the SouthWest US. I even get signal when I'm camping!

I so wanted the walkie-talkie feature of Nextel, but the signal cuts of (literally) as you pull into my drive way. That's just rude. Maybe I should offer some space in our front yard for a tower. Do you think I could get free service that way?

You might have good cell reception, but what would it do to your radio reception? LOL

True - but if you sign up for satellite radio, you'll get good everything reception at your house!

That's actually what we listen to. Because our house is located up against a mountain, we don't get very good local reception. Any one know what the provider might pay to get a tower? I know a couple of other friends that have room for one themselves.

I know that if you can get one, they pay you a monthly fee for having it on your property - and you can dress it up however you want to hide it! It might be worth it if there are no HOA rules to keep you from doing it!

I know people who had good spots for cell towers, but it's like the cell carriers go around and pick spots based on where they are missing coverage rather than allowing people to suggest locations. It kind of sucks because it could work out better t han all the fights I see around here!

I wonder if they keep a list of places that people complain about losing calls and then try to get something in that area. I know at my house they just kind of said too bad so sad for a LONG time (it felt like it, anyway!). Then one day, my service just started working at my house. So there is one somewhere around here now.

What I'm surprised at here in the Northeast are the dopped call areas that happen on major freeways and motorways. Sometimes, they're in fairly populated areas too. I don't get it.
