Default Adding memory to you computer?

I need to add memory to my computer. I don't know the first thing about how to go about doing this? Can someone just get me started? Thank you very much and have a great day.

Really depends on your computer, your motherboard and such as to what kind of memory you are going to need.

The first step is to identify what kind of motherboard you have and what kind of memory you can use. Once you do that we can help you find the best deal.

Thanks, I will look into what motherboard I have and get back to you on that. I am not very good when it comes to all the different things out there for computers. Thanks again.

i would recomend you take it to someone who does know about comouters and it wont cost much for them to install the memory for you.I do no its pretty simple to do as i watched my brother in law add memory to my tower and it seemed straight forward but then again im not a pc engineer lol.Although i may try one day soon.

Also, be careful when you're doing this on your own because if your computer can't take what you're adding, you could start a fire. I had a friend who's computer blew up because she didn't know what it could take.

I think the advice here is right, always good to have someone look at it who already knows about computers at least for your first time. There's just too many things that could go wrong otherwise

Yeah - how did it turn out? Did you have an explosion or was it all good? Inquiring minds waiting.

Regarding the adding up of your memory for your computer check your current memory used because they are two types of memory there is a SDRAM and DDRAM Memory, and check also the speed the one that is labeled in your current memory.
Hope i can help you regarding this matter.

You need to check up your present memory. Whether it is SDRAM or DDRAM? Furthermore you have to find out the available slots in your motherboard. Then you can go for extra RAM.

Just check out the board of your computer on what types of memory does it support. I recently just bought a Kingston 2gb DDR2 800MHZ and it really did the trick for me. I suggest you go for quality on this one. My top picks are GEIL and Kingston.

And the basic is, when opening your computer hardware, make sure you remove static from your body by touching a metal surface first before you touch any hardware.
