Default Maxtor One Touch II

Just bought a 200gb Maxtor One Touch II external backup drive. Not a bad unit. Got it at Best Buy on sale for $149.99. Took several attempts to get it configured. It kept telling me there was not enough space on the drive to back up my PC's hard drive... odd as my PC only has 15gb used...
Anyhow I got it running after a few re-installs.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for my GF.. Her PC is the exact same Dell I have and she bought the EXACT same Maxtor drive.. for some reason I am having a heck of a time getting hers to work right... grrrrr.. :dunno:

Got em both working... I love this thing!!

It backs up my PC every couple days on it's own... and I can boot from it should my PC ever take a major dump!

I recently bought an external hard drive as well. Mine is the Buffalo Drivestation (250Gb) and that worked great straight of the box for me, I nearly bought that drive when I was searching amazon. I need an external because I only have a laptop and although it has a 100Gb hard drive I do loads of video editing so I have to store massive video files.

The only problem I have found is that if I try to copy files bigger than about 4Gb it comes saying there is not enough free disk space (although there is by far). Do you have any idea why this is?

Glad I checked here, our Office Max has this on sale right now, and I was considering picking one up - I just had a drive fail on me with loads of important documents inside before I could back them up.
