Default Adding more RAM

I have 256MB DDR RAM, I have just received another 256 MB in two slots of 128MB each which needs to be installed. Can I just put them in the slots or there are things like make and type to check before I put them?

Just put the memory in the right slot, and the memory installed it is auto detect by the computer. To double check go to the bios after you installed it to verify that it is detected by the computer

Thanks for your reply. I have already done that and fortunately there was no issues. I was worried about whether there are brand and product related issues.

Just like what i said, if you have plans to upgrade your desktop just check first your specs, and if the parts your going to buy is compatible to your unit, or better make a research of it.

That is true. I will have to first find out my specs and go for upgrade accordingly. It is always better to proceed like that.

There are also memory speeds aside from it's sizes. You're just lucky that you have bougth the same type of memory as you have already installed. Next time, better make sure as errors like these can fry your pc.
