Default USB Port problem

My PC's USB Port is not working and I need it badly as I have to use Digital camera and other USB devices. THe USB port is giving power (as it is re-charging my digital camera from USB cable) so it is not out of function but I think some setting has disabled it because my younger cousins who came to visit us from other city were playing up with my PC when I was in University and now I dont know how to & from where to enable it. Anyone has any idea?

Have you used this camera on this PC before? Is this a USB 1.0 or 2.0 and what operating system are you running?

Default USB Port problem

Yes I have used it numerous times. I am running on Windows XP SP2. I think it is USB 1.0 as whenever I used to plug my flash drive in it, windows xp used to say that my device can run faster with USB 2.0 so thats why I assume that I have USB 1.0.

If I am correct then there is some software which checks the USB port of a system. It will test your ports and provide a report.

Since you're on XP SP2, I need to ask if you have tried disconnecting everything and cold booting?
