Top of the line graphics card

im planning on getting a new computer built from scratch. i jsut wanted to know what kinda graphics card do yous recommend i really want to be able to play the newest games and i want them to look really good. Any advice would realyl be useful

Do you have a preference between ATI or nVidia?

nVidia have the 7800 GTX model which will certainly make games look very good

ATI on the hand have the X1900 card and it claims to be the world's fastest consumer graphics processor!!

Both are worth looking at, but if I was deciding I'd say nVidia but then again I don't know why!

I have always used nVidia, so i have to vouch for the 7800GTX. My friend has it in his computer, and its awesome! BF2: SF run so good on it! Everything is so crystal clear, and the details are amazing.

nVidia for me although I only have the 6600 at the moment I plan to upgrade to the 7800 GTX in the near future

Well as for me, I suggest you ger Radeon Powercolor ATI x1950 will definitely be kick #$%!

I only have a X1650xt and there are no problems as gaming is concerned. I just spend more on my RAM which is a 2GB and two 1GB 800 MHZ kingston value ram.

For gaming purposes, I believe that ATI is the best graphics card for it. I'm currently using a x1600 xt at home and it can definitely give me the video I need when gaming. All you need to upgrade too is your RAM cos that is the carrier of tasks for your pc during game time.
