Unlocking your phone for $5

I have come across this article while googling out and thought that I would share coz it might help those who will have a problem with unlocking their phone. I am not assuring though, that this site can really help but it might.

Just wondering if anybody here who knows the procedure for unlocking phones so that we can do it for free? Or there might be a hardware/software to be used for that?

I have never had a phone that was locked. How do you end up with a locked phone. I assume that means one that will not let you put it on your plan or any plan. It seems that dealers should be able to assisst you.

I don't know much about locked phones, but I assume it has to do with them being tied to one provider. Unlocking them allows them to be used with other providers.
