Well, there are still places you can't be reached, but I agree that they are definitely a convenience.

My cell service is the only one that will reach at my house. Most repair men and work men LOVE coming out here because the boss can't get hold of them.

A friend of mine can only get sporadic cell service inside her home. Sometimes it's great, then the wind blows and it's gone. It's actually kind of fun to play watch the bars disappear. LOL

Well, I guess that is true. I still remember it when all my friends and I need to do is plan where to meet and talk about the time. Right now, we couldn't find each other if we don't have our phone. I personally can't leave home without it. It has become a necessity.

I wouldn't be able to function as well without my cellular phone. I use it more than landlines, and I carry it with me everywhere.

Cellphones are very useful in many situations and at times it may be a bother. In all I think it is how we use the device.

I'm still a little amazed and surprised at how dependent so many people are on them ...it's like they can't keep themselves off their cell phone. Staggering lol.

I have also tried to find out why people are so depended on their phone. The reason might be it never makes a mistake, lol. It reminds on time, it have all the no. and addresses of your contacts and it plays music when you need it. Because we are now more out (office/business) than in (home) we need a full time comapnion. I guess this must be the reason many are depending so much on mobiles.

Good logic! Today, sitting on the train, I watched how many people sat down and immediately started checking the mobiles. Text messaging away for an hour. I kept wondering who the heck they were talking to!

I try to be very discreet with my phone, I hate talking on them. Big time texter because I love to type but I have to pay for every little thing...I remind my friends it's prepaid so that I have an excuse to keep conversations short and to the point!

Today on road I found most of the people either talking on mobile or doing something on mobile. It's the stage when people are still enjoying every bit of the device.

I'm not sure if a lot of them have realized how much the number of accidents have increased because of it. I know I can't drive and talk! Not with my non-power steerable car!
Thank goodness for speakerphone.

Bluetooth is great but I still laugh at all the guys (women don't seem to do this) who get out of the car with their ear piece still in and walk around with it. It looks stupid.

Ah yeah...it looks like some weird new age hearing aid or something! And the mundane conversations to sound important...hehe. Well it's not everyone who uses a bluetooth, don't get me wrong! But around where I live it really seems to be like that.

The best part is if you keep an watch on people who are on the phone you will notice then talking loudly while walking alone. Then you discover "Oh! he is on phone". I have seen many elderly person gets surprised to see this out-of-the-world elements on street. There face tells everything.

That's true! When the blue tooth things first came out, people surprised me doing that. Now, I figure they're on the phone or just crazy ...could be either around here.

I once read on MSN about a guy who was trying to make conversation with some chick, and she turns and has the wire hanging down and says, "Excuse me, I'm on the phone!"
Maybe modern technology isn't always without its flaws :P

Yes this has happened with many. I think it's how we use the technology is the important thing. Getting too much hooked into any technology will expose the other side of it.

Precisely! Technology is a tool not a way of life!
