Default Getting battery wet

How long is it necessary to wait after getting your cell battery wet? I've heard it will short if you don't give it 3 days. Does it really have to be that long? (I always seem to be spilling on it or dropping it in the sink)

Sounds like there's a market for water-proof batteries.

Might have to recommend you take better care of your cell phone!

lol. yeah, that would be a great product, brian. lol. this thread reminded me of my college classmate who accidentally sent her cellphone falling on a toilet seat, causing it to open as it fell on the bowl! needless to say, she had to change not only her cellphone but her battery and sim card. that sure wasn't her lucky day.

Though it is very unusual that the battery has got wet, I think as you cannot give it heat, you can try keeping it sometime in the Sunlight (after drying it up with clear cotton). Try this in phases, the battery should not be directly for long hours under sunlight. I guess in this way it should work after may be one day.

If I were you; I'll purchase a new battery. I wouldn't risk shorting my phone after it got spilled on or something. And next time, I think it's best you take good care of your mobile phone. Or you can purchase a waterproof phone.
