I haven't heard about anything real - I know there is a theoretical virus that is being discussed, but no known cases of one...

That gives me confidence. It means there is nothing to worry about as of now. It's nice to read the word theoretical.

That means it is possible. Now we need to know whether there is any protection available for the phone.

The protection that we need is dont accept trasnfer files from other people that you dont know, might as well it contains viruses.

Yes laarni080, that is what I think we can do to be keeping us protected from virus. I generally do not accept files from unknow resources. But sometimes you may transmitt it from known sources.

I think it's also being really careful with downloads for ringtones and stuff ...go to good sites. Then, you still keep your fingers crossed!
I haven't gotten a virus yet ...but I worry.

I kind of worry about it too. There are so many different places you can get ringtones, but they seem so shady. I still only get ringtones from the places that I can get to from Verizon!

First of all, do the research to make sure your phone is actually susceptible to virus attack. Some just aren't.

Do you know which phones are more susceptible? In the reverse of the computer world, I would think that the newer phones would be more susceptible than the older ones, because of the more advanced technology.

If some are more susceptible than others, how do you go about finding out? Any links? Thanks.

You have to keep in mind that anything you download has the potential to cause damage to the system it's being downloaded on to. It's always a good idea to have a security system in place BEFORE downloading on anything.

Yes I think we should download only those files which is trusted by someone. Also we should ignore data transfer between two mobiles because this also transfer Virus from one mobile to another. You should use better Antivirus software for your phone.
