Default Lost my Phone! Need advice on protecting information

I had my phone stolen a few days ago and it contains some very compromising photos and text messages on it.

I have cancelled the service, but know that the person can still access the personal information.

Does anyone have advice on how to protect or even erase the information on my mobile phone.

Any tips, advice or ways would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

Sounds like you're sort of screwed on the lost phone front. You can protect with a password but that's a pain to do all the time.

Yeah, I know. I used to use password protect but find it a big hassel. Any suggestions?

It's either that or remove sensitive data from your phone and put it on your computer for safe keeping. Do it on a regular basis.

If I were you, I'd visit the place I bought the phone or a dealer for the service and ask what to do. I don't think there'd be a way to erase the info from whereever you go, but hopefully in the end, whoever stole it will not bother anyone and clear the memory. So sorry to hear about your phone...I couldn't live without mine!

I think it's a good lesson to be careful with a phone, but also to remember that whatever you have on one could possibly be seen too. Same with laptops.

I think if you blacklist it it can stop it from being usable, it shuts the phone down i think. and also cancel the sim card, cant guarentee this will work but it might.

I've never heard of that so it's good to know just in case even though I never let my phone out of my sight, I even sleep with it!
I wonder if all companies offer this.
I've only "lost" my phone once, to find it was at home on my bed
