Samsung u600 vs Sony Ericsson z610i vs another phone????

I want to buy my girlfriend another phone,in pink under 140gbp(300usd) and the two I have picked out is the Samsung u600 and Sony z610i priced similar.

Im not too bothered about many features for her as her main priority is that it is user friendly especially with text messages and its good looking.

At the moment she has the motorola razr(pink) and to text it is really poor and slow. Personally I think the quickest and best way is with a nokia(but thats my choice)

Anyone have any ideas about these two phones and how user friendly they are.Someone told me that Ericssons are better than Samsung but I dont know.Ill be buying it from ebay so i wont get a feel until it arrives.

Maybe there is another phone you can recommend that i can purchase in pink thats responsive with texting. I prefer to buy pink from new rather than swap the casing over.
