Default Do you still have a landline?

Most of us here in the place where I live use cellphone and many of us don't have landline anymore. As for me, I still have a landline because of my internet connection. Previously, I have thought of a landline as unnecessary coz all of us in the family have cellphones. Lately, I have realized the value of a landline and will decide to keep it. How about you? If the internet connection can stand without a landline, would you keep your landline or have it cut off in lieu of the cellphone?

I have a landline. If something happens to the cell system, I can hopefully count on my landline. It can also be used to access dialup if something happens to my broadband account (remember Excite!?).

I do have one, but rarely use it. I think if I did not have satellite for TV, I might use a VOIP on cable or something and be done with my landline.

I thought about getting rid of my landline. But I just feel more comfortable with my landline. I am forever forgetting to recharge my cellphone, this way I know I will always have a phone if needed.

yep, having a landline in my country is definitely a must. this is because cellphone calls are not that cheap here....so as much as possible we use the landline to make calls and just make cellphone calls if there's an emergency..

I use my landline phone way more often than my cell phone and so there's no way I could think of giving it up. However, I have a couple of friends who only use their cellphones.

the same is true for me. i use my landline more often than i use my cellphone. i still think it's much safer to use it more often since cellphone can truly give you radiation...

I would not be without my landline!
They never run out of credit etc and are very handy in emergenys.
And also if its not a cordless of course you will always know where it is when ringing.
And not run around the house like a crazy doll looking for a tune coming from your phone.

lol. that is indeed the common challenge, destiny, forgetting where you placed your cellphone. what makes my case worse (and stupid) is that i often have my cellphone turned to silent mode even at home, which means it takes me almost forever to find it.

Yes, we still have landline because not all of us in the family has a cellphone, and it is good to have a landline phone, because if there is an emergency or something that is important and they cannot contact you on your cellphone they can call you on your phone in the house, and landline is much cheaper rather than using the cellphone.

I have a landline, but mostly just for internet. My broadband provider requires a telephone line. I use my cell phone about 99% of the time. On the rare occasion that the landline rings, it is almost always a wrong number.

The house I'm in had a landline here and I left it. I use it mostly for local calls but I have a cell (doesn't work in the house lol) and Vonage so I don't really need it anymore. When I move I suspect I won't have one installed.

I guess if you really think about it, landlines are so outdated!
I remember when cellphones were a luxury...and superhuge!
Now everyone has one, even babies! o.0

Landlines aren't outdated for the people who don't own or like computers. They're the ones who need them. Not to mention that cell service sucks in alot of areas ...like mine. Computers are so much a necessary tool as I see it now, and I wonder how long some people are going to hold out. lol.
