Default One Device

Lots of different gadgets are being combined into the one thing nowadays. Phones now have digital cameras, mp3 players and internet access. When will we get to the stage where everyone will just have the one device, with no other gadgets necessary? Or will we always need to have an additional camera, additional mp3 player, additional pda?

Indeed, I think this is the way mobile devices are going - a single mobile device, which takes care of phone calls, video, music, emails, etc. Imagine that - a home PC in your pocket.

Maybe in the near future someone will make a all in one gadget, but expecting the price, it is much higher.

I would prefer to have just one. My purse can't handle all separate things anymore! I have a PDA, MP3 player, cell phone. I am about to get a Blackberry at work that will combine two of those things. I don't think Blackberries have MP3 capabilities, though.

I don't care how much it'd cost, I'd probably want one of these. In fact, I probably need this! Someone needs to hurry up with that idea...and also put enough memory on it so it won't freeze up too much. I worry about that.

I wonder if this will knock all the other gadgets out of the market? And will businesses complain and try to ban the idea? I certainly hope not...

I think it's probably the cost of such a device that will put some people off ...especially if there are one or two features that they know they probably won't use. Like me, I wouldn't use the MP3 or the camera (because I shoot alot of photos and always have my canon with me).

I could imagine that something like that would start out at least $300-500...until the novelty wears off and everyone owns one, then it'd only be 100-200 haha...but I think it's farfetched since it could hurt a lot of electronic/technology based businesses!
