Default Bios password

Hi,

I have a laptop locked by a password in the bios. The admin is also locked by a password. I contacted the company and they said i have to pay $33 in order to open it. Does anyone know how to open it without paying any money?

probably notl you can maybe bring it to a laptop place and they can try to get around it. but is this YOUR laptop? because if you bought this laptop then nothing like this should happen. but if its not yours then thats a different issue

It sounds as though this laptop is stolen or yo have bought it under false pretences, and the security password has been enabled because of this pretty much the same thing happens to a mobile phone when theft occurs.........

i think either way you can still avail of the service of technicians who could get around it. i bet it would be cheaper than $33.

You can reset the bios password by removing the CMOS battery found in inside youre laptop and put it back again, rather than to pay the $33. This is the way when you are unable to enter your password in the BIOS

As this is a very old post by now your problem must have been solved. But this is also very interesting, because I had fortunately hit the bulls eye once. I managed to open my own PC by unlocking the BIOS password by providing the correct password. I can tell you how and there is another way to solve this problem. If you are interested then I will continue posting the process here.
