Got my Zune!

I got my Zune! I love it! Really, really love it!

I loaded all my language learning CD's on it so I'm set for yard work when it warms up. I will finally learn Spanish while mowing the lawn!

Good luck with Spanish! I kind of want to buy a Zune. I'm still considering cheaper options

I've been picking up little bits of Spanish for years, but I need to learn far more than I already know. My community includes a number of Latino immigrants and they feel somewhat isolated from the schools because so few established residents speak Spanish. In my volunteer roles, I can do a great deal more if I can communicate more effectively.

That sounds great! Having grown up along the Mexican border I can relate to your community. Unfortunately, I was never taught Spanish because my grandmother and her siblings took a vow not to teach their children Spanish so they wouldn't have to face the difficulties as they did. I really should follow your lead......it's a great reason to buy a Zune!

Well, I didn't exactly pay for it. I redeemed credit card reward points for gift cards and used those to buy it. If you can do something like that, I say go for it.

The rewards program I use is pretty generous. When we're not carrying a transferred balance on a particular card, we put everything we can on it and pay it off about once a week. (Otherwise we use our debit cards with crappy rewards) I usually use the points for Christmas, but had been saving some on the side for an mp3 player (I first considered an iPod, but then the Zune came out). I could have ordered the Zune directly, but $250 in gift cards ate up fewer points than the Zune itself. My neighbor just happened to give me a $20 gc for the same store as a Christmas gift and that covered tax.

I realized I'm missing one of my sets of Spanish CD's so I'm a little bummed. I had wanted to go through both. <sigh> Maybe it will turn up.
