Default MP3 - portable players: the good and bad

As MP3 players are fairly new, they are quite expensive. This turns many people away from buying them, and so they are not very popular. In time, the prices will drop, and as more come out on the market, they will be more widely used.

The main advantages about portable MP3 players are that users can transfer any songs onto them quickly and easily, and use the players in a wide range of conditions without fear of the music skipping.

Prices on them have already dropped incredibly. Some of the smaller capacity players can be purchased for less than 50 bucks.
