Default Any people use a basic ring?

I feel like the only person in the world whose phone actually rings! Everyone I know has their phone play some sort of music when they have an incoming call, but I set mine to ring like a regular phone. In fact, it sounds more like a real ring than the cordless landline phone I have. But really . . . am I the only one left on earth who uses a basic ring? Why is that?

Yes and no. I will always limit myself to the default ring choices, and then only the most subdued ones.

I am not into fancy ring tones or any of that. I think we have a huge problem with noise pollution from cell phone ring tones.

The one and only problem I have with my basic ringtone is that my boyfriend also hates crazy ringtones, and selected the same tone I have. Not only that, but we have the exact same phone. So it definitely gets confusing.

I mostly use vibrate and keep it on my hip. But, when I am at home then I will put it on a basic ring.

I pretty much just put my phone on silent mode if I'm somewhere and I don't want it to ring. My vibration sounds really bad -- like a dying cow. I find it almost more annoying than a ring; there's nothing subtle about it at all.

CJ, my husband's phone rings. He picked the most annoying ring he could so he'd always hear it and be able to differentiate it from everyone else.

No basic ring here. There are so many choices that I just see no reason to have a boring ring all the time. I like to assign unique ringtones to my friends that phone frequently as well. So I'm the annoying person with the phone ringing playing the latest song I guess.

There's nothing wrong with that. I do it too. I have a yankees ringtone and I love playing it around my red sox fanatic friends.

I still use a regular ring tone. I feel funny about putting a song on my phone because I feel it lets too many people know my sappy side and I get embarrassed! Or maybe it's because my phone is low rent... nah. It's the sappy.

Sorry, I use the theme song to the Legend of Zelda. My wife, however prefers a very basic ring. She thinks I'm the odd man out.

I use one of the default ring tones - I forget the name, but it's the song from the Smurfs. The only problem is that if it's in my purse I just here music coming from no where and think I'm losing my mind .

although i don't use the basic ring as my ringtone, i just use the default ring choices in my phone. that's it. my friends and siblings have cool ring tones but i just gave up downloading ring tones a long time ago. i have found that it takes a lot of my time since once i start changing my ringtone, i would definitely be insatiable and constantly change ringtones every now and then.

I couldn't imagine changing ringtones. When I got my new phone, it didn't have the same rings available as my old one. For the longest time I would try to answer it when I heard other people's phones ringing. I'm more creature of habit!

I can't do ring tones either - when it rings, I answer the home phone. Then my husband just laughs at me - which doesn't ever help the situation.

I need something that will distinguish me from others and from my land line.

My son got my phone to do this strange ringtone that drives me nuts. It's like a fire alarm or something. I haven't bothered to change it back to the regular tone yet.

i suddenly remembered my sister's message tone which freaked me out at an unholy hour when all the lights in the house were turned off and my sister, who shares the room with me, was asleep. her message tone suddenly sounded and for a while i froze since i thought i heard a voice in the utter darkness. it turns out it's just homer simpson's voice saying a dumb phrase. i gave her a sermon the next day to change her message tone from then on! lol.

I also keep mine on vibrate (which tends to get a lot more attention than the ring tone). It's especially effective if the phone happens to be sitting in my change shelf in my car!
