There are countless ringtones available for our cellphone. Like others I have also used many but finally I fell it is the good old landphone rings which is easier to react when there is a call, while we are on road or in heavy traffic or even in home. What are your views?

I think vibrate gets my attention more than any ring tone I have used - especially in crowded areas!

I just switched mine to Comatose by Pearl Jam. My last ringtone was a live version of PJ covering Baba O'Reilly, but the crowd noise wasn't very attention grabbing. Comatose has made me jump a few times.

I do not have a ring tone I have my phone on vibrate always because its just embarrassing if it does go on in public and surprises you and just dumb why have someone else voice telling you when someone is calling makes sense.

Do you also consider it dumb to have a ringer on your land line or is it simply cell phones that you think nobody should be able to hear?

It may be because of habits but I have really found simpler tunes or the one I have mentioned here easier to listen and react even in a crowded area.
