Composing own ringtones

If my phone does not include a built in composer. How do i make my own tunes ?

I have a Samsung D500.

Are the ringtones polyphonic ?

How many channels can it handle ?

You might be able to just send the midi file over.

But I found out you can get an 'MMS composer' which creates music for the D500. Thanks

I can do this with my motorola razr! I made a really good one but I didn't use it for my ringtone because I found one with my favorite team, the yankees.

My Motorola supports composing ringtones. I think Sony, Motorola, Nokia all support composing but I have no idea for Samsung.

I just do this on my computer and then transfer them to the phone in Mp3 format. It works pretty well.

Does anybody know which phones offer this option? I would love to compose tunes that I can't find on my service provider's website.

i just cut the song on my computer and send the mp3 through bluetooth.
