Just something silly, but can be annoying.
It seems as if my RAZR is producing enough electromagentic field to mess up any hotel's room access card. If I put the card and the RAZR into the same pocket.... I can't get into the room and have to have the card reprogrammed at the reception.
Just imagine what it is doing to parts of your body. As mentioned different phones can do this to different degrees, but it is a pretty common problem. I solve it by keeping my room key in my wallet, and I always keep my wallet and phone in opposite pockets.
Seriously, thanks for the info. I never knew that this was even possible. But it makes sense now that I think of it. Hmm, I might want to try it sometime just for fun on a 2 dollar metrocard or something like that.
Wow, this may explain some things for me as well. Do you think it is just your hotel room keys or all magnitic strips such as those on an ATM card? I have had problems that can't be explained in this area.
That makes me wonder what else the phones can erase. If you put them in the same pocket as a credit card or debit card, will it erase them too. That would be bad. Especially if you had to stop and buy gas only to find out you can't use your credit card.
Don't ever put your phone over anything electrical. I learned this the hard way. I used to put my phone on top of my CPU at home, and I keep getting calls and text a lot I might add. Well, to make the story short, I have a new CPU right now cos the old one won't function well. It seems my hardisk and mainboard was damaged or something cos it kept on rebooting after the incident.
I agree with the previous post, don't ever put your mobile phone anywhere near an electrical gadget or appliance. Have you ever tried receiving a call while you're near your television? That could really damage the electrical part of the television if you keep on doing that.
